About Corynephorus canescens (L.) P.Beauv.
This species, Corynephorus canescens, produces panicles that measure 1.5 to 8 centimetres (0.59 to 3.15 inches) long, and 0.5 to 1.5 centimetres (0.20 to 0.59 inches) wide. Its pedicels are 1 to 3 millimetres (0.039 to 0.118 inches) in length. Leaf blades grow 2 to 6 centimetres (0.79 to 2.36 inches) long and 0.3 to 0.5 millimetres (0.012 to 0.020 inches) wide. Both the upper and lower glumes are shiny, lanceolate, and membranous. Lemmas have a dorsal awn, a dentate apex, and obscure lateral veins. Its fertile lemma is ovate, keelless, membranous, and 1.8 to 2.2 millimetres (0.071 to 0.087 inches) long. The floret callus is hairy, while rhachilla internodes are pilose. Its flowers hold three stamens that are 1.2 to 1.6 millimetres (0.047 to 0.063 inches) long.
