About Cortinarius salor Fr.
Cortinarius salor Fr. is a basidiomycete fungus belonging to the genus Cortinarius. It is native to Europe and Asia, with a range extending east as far as Japan and New Guinea. It can also be found growing in conifer forests in the North American Pacific Northwest. Young mushrooms of this species are blue-lilac in color, and they fade to yellow or tan as they age. Species similar to Cortinarius salor include C. anomalus and C. muscigenus.
