About Cortinarius alboviolaceus (Pers.) Zawadzki
This mushroom species is known scientifically as Cortinarius alboviolaceus (Pers.) Zawadzki. Young fruiting bodies have a lilac color, which yellows over time and often becomes whitish or grayish in older specimens. The cap ranges from 3 to 8 cm wide, starting conical and developing an umbo; it is dry and silky, with whitish to pale lilac flesh. The gills are either adnate or adnexed. They start grayish lilac, and turn brown as spores mature and release their color. The stalk measures 4โ8 cm in height and 0.5โ1.5 cm in width. It is wider at the base, and sometimes retains patches of white veil tissue. Both the odor and taste of this mushroom are indistinct.
