About Corispermum hyssopifolium L.

Corispermum hyssopifolium is a plant species belonging to the genus Corispermum in the family Amaranthaceae. This annual plant grows between 10 and 60 centimeters (3.9 to 26.3 inches) tall, and blooms in July and August. It can be found growing on dunes and sandy areas along rivers in central and western Europe, as well as in western North America. Prehistoric peoples in western North America exploited this plant for its edible seeds. Its fruits have narrow wings; the non-transparent edge of each wing widens at the top, and each spike on the fruit is attached to a broad base. The transparent portion of the wing edge is narrow. The upper stipules are ovate with a pointed apex.
