Coreopsis pubescens Elliott is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches up to 90 cm (3 feet) in height. Its main flowering period runs from April to September, and all of its ray florets and disc florets are uniformly yellow when blooming. This species has been recorded growing across 20 U.S. states: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. It typically grows in sandy soils, granite outcrops, open pine and oak woodlands, and disturbed areas including ditches and roadsides.
