About Cordylospasta opaca (Horn, 1868)

Cordylospasta opaca (Horn, 1868) is a species of blister beetle found in arid areas of central and southern California. Males of this species are fully winged, and grow up to 12 millimeters in length. Females are flightless, have reduced elytra, and reach up to 19 millimeters in length. This species is very similar to Cordylospasta fulleri, but the two differ in range and antennal segment count: Cordylospasta fulleri is found in the Great Basin and has 8 to 10 antennal segments, while Cordylospasta opaca has 11 antennal segments.
