Coprinellus bipellis is a mushroom species that belongs to the family Psathyrellaceae. Henri Romagnesi first formally described this species in 1976 under the scientific name Coprinus bipellis. In 2006, this species was reclassified and moved to the genus Coprinellus, giving it its current accepted scientific name Coprinellus bipellis (Romagn.) P.Roux, Guy García & Borgarino.
