Conophis vittatus (Peters, 1860) can be recognized by having seven upper labials and a white chin. This species occurs across a range of natural habitats, including forest, shrubland, and grassland. It is also found in disturbed habitats such as agricultural land and urban areas, and occurs at elevations up to 1,000 m (3,300 ft). Conophis vittatus reproduces via oviparity.
