About Condalia hookeri M.C.Johnst.
Condalia hookeri, common name Brazilian bluewood, is a widespread flowering plant species in the Rhamnaceae family. It is native to Texas in the United States and eastern Mexico. This species is a thorny shrub or small tree that can reach 6 m (20 ft) in height, though most individuals are much shorter. It typically grows in marginal habitats including limestone slopes, sandstone bluffs, lunettes, shell ridges, and juniper-dominated woodlands, as well as along watercourses. It is often found growing in clayey or sandy soils, at elevations ranging from 10 to 400 m (30 to 1,300 ft). It can become the dominant plant species in an area, forming a thorny scrubland.
