Compacta hirtalis is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first described by Achille Guenée in 1854. Its distribution ranges from the southern United States, where it has been documented in Arizona and Texas, southward through Central America (including Costa Rica and Honduras) to South America, where it occurs in French Guiana and Brazil. This moth has a wingspan of approximately 21 mm. In the United States, adult individuals of Compacta hirtalis have been recorded in flight during June and August.
