About Combretum zeyheri Sond.

Combretum zeyheri, commonly known as large-fruited bushwillow or Zeyher's bushwillow, is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Combretaceae. It typically grows on acidic or sandy soils in tropical African savannas, and is a small to medium-sized tree. Its roots provide material for making baskets, and are also used as a traditional medicine to treat haemorrhoids. The Kalambo structure, found at Kalambo Falls in Zambia and dated to approximately 476,000 years old, is the oldest known wooden structure, and it is made of two interlocking notched large-fruited bushwillow logs.
