Collomia tinctoria Kellogg is a flowering plant species in the phlox family, commonly known as staining collomia. It is native to the western United States, ranging from Washington and Montana to California. In this region, it grows in open, rocky mountain habitats. This species is an annual herb that produces a slender, branched stem that reaches no more than around 8 centimeters in height. Its leaves are glandular, hairy, and lance-shaped. The inflorescence is made up of two or three flowers that grow from the leaf axils. Each flower has pointed sepals with awns at their tips. Each bloom also has a purplish floral tube and a pinkish corolla.
