Collinsia childii Parry ex A.Gray is an annual herb. It grows an erect, branching stem that reaches up to roughly 35 centimeters in height, and the stem is covered in glandular hairs. Its leaves are oblong and flat, and may sometimes have slightly toothed edges. The inflorescence is covered in hairy glands, and it holds flowers on erect pedicels; several flowers emerge from the leaf axils at interrupted nodes. Each flower has two upper lobes and three lower lobes, is pale lavender in color, and measures less than one centimeter in length.
