About Colaranea verutum (Urquhart, 1887)
Colaranea verutum (Urquhart, 1887) has a recorded body length of 9.1 mm for females and 5.5 mm for males. This species displays variable body colouration, which generally ranges from green to reddish brown or red, and usually has a pale patch on the anterior lateral surface of its body. Formally, this species is only confirmed to occur on Stewart Island and the South Island of New Zealand, but there are iNaturalist records of it from the North Island.
