About Cocculus diversifolius DC.
This species is currently classified as Cocculus diversifolius DC., and is also known by the synonym Nephroia diversifolia. Its common names are sarsaparilla and correjuela. It is a climbing vine that is native to Arizona, Texas, and large portions of Mexico, ranging south as far as Oaxaca. It can grow up to 3 meters in length. It produces flowers that range in color from white to yellowish, and dark purple fruits that grow up to 6 millimeters in diameter.
