Adult individuals of Coccinella californica Mannerheim, 1843 reach a length between approximately 5.10 mm and 6.80 mm. Adult beetles have a black head marked with two pale spots. The anterior margin of the pronotum is black, with one pale spot on the ventral surface and one pale spot on the dorsal surface of the pronotum. Each elytron has a small scutellar spot, and the sutural margin of the elytra is dark brown.
