About Cnephasia jactatana

The black-lyre leafroller moth, scientifically known as Cnephasia jactatana, is a species of tortrix moth in the family Tortricidae. This moth is endemic to New Zealand and common across the entire country. Females lay their eggs on the upper surface of leaves. The larvae are most often found on hounds tongue fern, where they live inside a silken tube and feed on this fern’s leaves. Larvae prefer to consume older leaves of the fern.
