Clossiana improba (Butler, 1877), also referred to as Boloria improba and commonly known as the dingy fritillary, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. In Europe, the species is only found in small areas of Scandinavia, specifically the border region shared by Norway, Sweden, and Finland. It inhabits alpine or tundra habitats. In Europe, its larvae are thought to feed on Polygonum viviparum. In North America, the species uses Salix arctica and Salix reticulata nivalis as larval food plants.
