Clossiana astarte (Doubleday), also known as Boloria astarte or the Astarte fritillary, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. Its distribution ranges from northwestern North America to northeastern Siberia, and it extends as far south as the U.S. states of Montana and Washington. The wingspan of adult Astarte fritillaries measures between 42 and 51 mm. Adult butterflies are active in flight from mid-June to mid-August. The larvae of this species feed on spotted saxifrage, which has the scientific name Saxifraga bronchialis.
