Clitocybe fragrans (With.) P.Kumm. is a white mushroom. Its cap has a diameter between 1 and 5 centimetres, or 1โ„2 to 2 inches. The gills are somewhat closely spaced. Its stem measures 2โ€“6 cm (3โ„4โ€“2+3โ„8 inches) in length and 2โ€“5 millimetres (1โ„16โ€“3โ„16 inches) in width. This species has a fragrant odour that resembles aniseed, and it produces a whitish spore print. Across Europe, it can be found growing in broadleaf woodland between August and December. It is also found on the West Coast and in the Pacific Northwest of North America, growing under conifers from October to February.
