About Cliffortia ruscifolia L.
Cliffortia ruscifolia, commonly called the climber's friend, is a widespread flowering plant species in the Rosaceae family, native to the Cape Provinces of South Africa. This shrub grows 1 to 1.5 meters (3 to 5 feet) tall and has painfully sharp leaves. It grows on rocks and cliffs, and acts as a pioneer species in disturbed areas. It is often affected by hairy white galls of unknown cause.
