About Cliffortia polygonifolia L.

Note: Oliver and Fellingham (in Jarvis et al., Regnum Veg. 127: 35. 1993) designated a Clifford sheet as the lectotype. However, Stearn made an earlier choice. Weimarck (Monogr: Cliffortia: 83. 1934) described the Hort. Cliff. illustration as "a good figure" and mentioned that "the type specimen has disappeared".
