About Clepsis spectrana (Treitschke, 1830)

Clepsis spectrana, commonly known as the cyclamen tortrix, cabbage leafroller, or straw-colored tortrix, is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This species is found in Europe. Its wingspan measures 16 to 22 mm. The wing coloration is highly variable, but the ground color of the forewings is often more or less brown. Typically, the forewing has two dark spots along the costa edge: the innermost spot is square-shaped, and the outermost is oval. Behind the outermost spot, there is usually a small, round black spot. Paler individuals of the species have distinct, fine brown crosslines. The hindwings are brownish-white. The moth produces two generations annually, with adults active from late April to September. The larvae feed on a wide range of host plants, including various trees, shrubs, and cabbage.
