Clematis pitcheri Torr. & A.Gray, a flowering plant species in the buttercup family, has the common name bluebill. This is a herbaceous perennial vine that occurs in the south-central United States and northern Mexico. It can be found growing in wooded rocky outcrops, woodland margins, bluffs, and disturbed habitats. Its leaves are variable, arranged oppositely along the stems, and may be either simple or compound. Each year in the fall, the above-ground growth of this vine dies back to ground level.
