Cirrhophanus pretiosa is a moth species that belongs to the family Noctuidae. It was first formally described by Herbert Knowles Morrison in 1875. This moth is found in North America, specifically within the states of Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida. For a period of time, it was treated as a synonym of the species Cirrhophanus triangulifer. In 1995, Robert W. Poole elevated Cirrhophanus pretiosa back to the status of a separate full species.
