About Cicindela sachalinensis A.Morawitz, 1862

Cicindela sachalinensis A.Morawitz, 1862 is a species of tiger beetle that belongs to the family Cicindelidae. This species was first formally described in 1862 by August Morawitz. Its species epithet sachalinensis refers to the fact that the species was originally recorded from Sakhalin. C. raddei, a species also described by Morawitz in the same 1862 publication, has previously been treated as a synonym of Cicindela sachalinensis, but the reasoning behind this synonymization is unclear. This species is native to northern and central Korea, China, Russia, and Mongolia.
