Cicindela highlandensis Choate, 1984 is primarily black in color, with a body length ranging from 10.5 to 12 millimeters. This species is restricted exclusively to the Lake Wales Ridge. It inhabits scrub and sandhill environments that have very sandy substrates, with vegetation including evergreen scrub oaks, turkey oaks, and longleaf pines. It occurs in open, generally sparsely vegetated sections of these habitats, and can occasionally be found on trails and paths.
