It can be found in Afghanistan, China, Japan, Taiwan, Pakistan, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia (including Borneo), and the Philippines. This species lives on sandy reservoir banks that have specific climatic and soil conditions. Adult individuals of this species have an average body length of 11 millimeters. Adult beetles are reddish-brown or bronze in color, with pale-yellow markings and copper-green pits.
