Ciampa arietaria, commonly known as the brown pasture looper, is a moth species that belongs to the family Geometridae. This species is distributed across most of Australia, including the island of Tasmania. Adults of this moth reach an approximate wingspan of 40 millimetres. The larvae of Ciampa arietaria feed on a wide range of herbaceous plants. Recorded host plants include Arctotheca calendula, Onopordum acaulon, Lupinus nanus, Medicago sativa, plants of the Erodium genus, and Zaluzianskya divaricata. These larvae are classified as a pest that affects grazing pastures.
