Chuquiraga jussieui, commonly called the flower of the Andes, is a flowering plant species that belongs to the family Asteraceae. This species grows as a low shrub that reaches approximately 75 centimeters in height. Chuquiraga jussieui is classified as an endangered species. Its flowers display colors ranging from pale yellow to orange. The plant is native to Ecuador and Peru, where it grows at elevations between 3000 and 5000 meters above sea level. It contains bioactive components that have medicinal properties. The hummingbird species Oreotrochilus chimborazo feeds on the nectar produced by Chuquiraga jussieui.
