About Chrysopsis lanuginosa Small

Chrysopsis lanuginosa, commonly known as the Lynn Haven goldenaster, is a North American flowering plant species that belongs to the family Asteraceae. This species has only been documented to occur in the Florida Panhandle. It is a perennial herb that can grow up to 100 cm (40 inches) tall. Each leaf rosette of the plant typically produces just one stem. Both the stem and the leaves are covered in white woolly hairs. Each stem can bear up to 80 yellow flower heads arranged in a loose cluster. This species grows in sandy, grassy habitats.
