About Chrysopsis godfreyi Semple

Chrysopsis godfreyi Semple, commonly known as Godfrey's goldenaster, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the family Asteraceae. It is native to the U.S. states of Florida and Alabama in the southeastern United States. This plant is an herb that grows up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall, with a large taproot and most of its leaves arranged in a rosette close to the ground. It produces many yellow flower heads organized into large clusters; each flower head contains both ray florets and disc florets. This species grows on sand dunes and other sandy habitats along the Gulf Coast, specifically in southern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
