About Chrysomphalina chrysophylla (Fr.) Clémençon

Chrysomphalina chrysophylla is a mushroom species found in north temperate regions. Elias Magnus Fries first described it in 1821, and Swiss mycologist Heinz Clémençon transferred it to the genus Chrysomphalina in 1982. This species has yellow caps that measure 1 to 5 centimetres (1⁄2 to 2 inches) across, and stems that grow 1 to 4 centimetres (1⁄2 to 1+1⁄2 inches) long. Its spore print is yellowish, and it can look similar to C. aurantiaca or Gerronema strombodes.
