Chrysochus asclepiadeus (Pallas, 1776) has a dark blue body marked by a purplish metallic sheen. Adult males of this species average 9.3 mm in length and 4.9 mm in width. Adult females are generally similar in appearance to males, but are larger on average, with a length of 10.2 mm and width of 5.4 mm. This species is distributed across Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldavia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, the southern European territory of Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, and Ukraine.
