About Chrysilla volupe (Karsch, 1879)

Chrysilla volupe is a species of jumping spider that belongs to the family Salticidae. This species has been recorded in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, and Bhutan. In his original 1879 description of the species, Ferdinand Karsch opened with the phrase: »Ein durch Mischung von vier, zum Theil metallisch-glänzender Farben wundervolles Spinnchen.«, which translates to "A marvelous little spider through the mixture of four, partly metallic-shiny colors". The specific epithet volupe comes from the Latin word meaning "pleasant".
