About Choristoneura parallela (Robinson, 1869)
Choristoneura parallela, commonly known as the parallel-banded leafroller moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This species is native to North America, and has been specifically recorded in California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Quebec, Saskatchewan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The wingspan of adult parallel-banded leafroller moths ranges from 21 to 23 millimeters. Adult individuals have been observed in flight from March through October each year. The larvae of this moth feed on species from multiple plant genera, including Solidago, Kalmia, Vaccinium, Phaseolus, Myrica, Rosa, Gardenia, Citrus, Sarracenia, and Smilax. They also feed on specific plant taxa: Gerbera jamesonii, Hypericum perforatum, Chamaedaphne calyculata, and Salix humilis var. tristis.
