Chnootriba elaterii, commonly known as the melon ladybird beetle, was previously classified under the name Henosepilachna elaterii. It is a phytophagous (plant-eating) species of ladybird. This beetle is found in southern Europe, Africa, and western Asia. Its primary food source is squirting cucumber, but it also feeds on other cultivated and wild plants that belong to the Cucurbitaceae family.
