About Chlorophorus sartor (Müller, 1766)

Chlorophorus sartor (Müller, 1766) adults reach a body length of 6–10 millimetres (0.24–0.39 in). The head, pronotum, and elytra are black or brownish, and the elytra bear three light-colored stripes and dots. This species is rather similar in appearance to Chlorophorus pelleteri. It is a widespread and common beetle, found across most of Europe—including Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Switzerland—additionally occurring in the eastern Palearctic realm and the Near East. Chlorophorus sartor inhabits meadows and forest edges. Individuals can be found on the flowers of many plant species during spring and summer.
