About Chloris spinoides (Vigors, 1831)

Yellow-breasted greenfinch, with the scientific name Chloris spinoides (Vigors, 1831), measures 12–14 cm (4.7–5.5 in) in length and weighs 15 to 21 g (0.53 to 0.74 oz). This species has a brown conical bill and bright yellow wing bars, and its underparts are bright yellow. Male and female yellow-breasted greenfinches have similar plumage patterns, but the female’s coloration is less bright. This species occurs mainly at mid-altitudes in the Himalayas, and also lives in parts of Southeast Asia. Its range includes Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Tibet, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and temperate shrubland.
