Chirolophis nugator, which was formally described by Jordan and Williams in 1895, is a fish species belonging to the genus Chirolophis in the family Stichaeidae. It is commonly known as the mosshead warbonnet.
Geographic Distribution
This species is distributed in the western Pacific Ocean, ranging from the Aleutian Islands of Alaska to San Miguel Island of California.
Maximum Size
It reaches a maximum total length of 15 centimetres, or 5.9 inches.
Habitat and Depth Range
It lives in rocky intertidal and subtidal habitats, and can be found at depths up to 80 metres, or 260 feet.
Interaction with Humans
Chirolophis nugator is harmless to humans.
