About Chenopodium baccatum Labill.

Chenopodium baccatum Labill. is a spreading shrub that grows up to two metres tall. It has elliptical leaves, produces flowers arranged in a panicle, and bears red berries. This species is mostly found along the coast of southwestern Western Australia, with its range extending from Geraldton, south to Cape Leeuwin, and east along the south coast to Cape Arid. There are also outlying confirmed populations: some grow as far north as North West Cape, and another well-inland population occurs near Wiluna. The species appears to be endemic to Western Australia. Reports of collections from other Australian states have since been reidentified as specimens of the similar species Rhagodia candolleana.
