About Cheilanthes distans (R.Br.) Mett.

Cheilanthes distans (R.Br.) Mett. is a species of lip fern, commonly called the bristly cloak fern. This small fern has a woolly texture: the upper surface of its fronds bears small white hairs, while the underside is rusty brown. It is native to multiple regions of Australia, including Western Australia and the eastern Australian state of New South Wales. It is occasionally found growing on rocky, exposed terrain around Sydney. The bristly cloak fern can grow in both high rainfall areas and the semi-arid inland regions of Australia. Its distribution also extends to New Zealand and New Caledonia.
