Charissa variegata, commonly known as the etched taupe, is a species of moth in the family Geometridae. This species was first described by Philogène Auguste Joseph Duponchel in 1830. It can be found in France, the Iberian Peninsula, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, the Balkan Peninsula, and Ukraine. The wingspan of adult Charissa variegata ranges from 20 to 30 mm. The larvae of this moth feed on plants from the Carex, Thymus, Sedum, and Chamaecytisus genera.
