About Chamaecereus silvestrii (Speg.) Britton & Rose

This cactus species, currently also referenced under the name Echinopsis chamaecereus, produces long stems approximately 1 centimeter (0.4 inches) across. It bears orange flowers that can grow up to 4 centimeters (1.6 inches) wide, which bloom in late spring. In cultivation, when kept dry, E. chamaecereus is hardy to temperatures as low as −7 °C (19 °F). This plant has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
