About Chamaebatiaria millefolium (Torr.) Maxim.

Chamaebatiaria is a monotypic genus of aromatic shrubs in the rose family, containing only one species: Chamaebatiaria millefolium. This species is commonly known as fern bush and desert sweet. The genus name refers to the plant’s physical resemblance to mountain miseries of the genus Chamaebatia, though the two groups are not closely related. C. millefolium is a hairy, sticky plant covered in fern-like foliage made up of fronds of small leaflets. This spreading bush produces inflorescences of white rose-like flowers at the ends of its erect branches. The shrub grows in scrub, woodland, and forest habitats in western North America. Its closest living relative is Spiraeanthus.
