Chalcides viridanus (first described by Gravenhorst in 1851) can reach a total length of around 18 cm (7.1 inches) when fully grown, including the tail.

Size

Its natural habitats include temperate forest, temperate shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, temperate grassland, rocky areas, rocky shores, sandy shores, arable land, pastureland, rural gardens, and urban areas.

Habitat

This species occurs at altitudes as high as 2,000 m (6,600 ft).

Altitude Range

It is native to the Canary Islands, where it can be found on Tenerife, El Hierro, Roque de Garachico, and Roques de Anaga.

Distribution

Chalcides viridanus reproduces through viviparity.
