About Ceriagrion coromandelianum (Fabricius, 1798)
Ceriagrion coromandelianum is a medium-sized species of damselfly. Mature males have yellowish green eyes. Their thorax is olive green on the upper surface, and yellowish green on the sides. The abdomen is yellow. The male anal appendages are citron-yellow or ochreous, with the inferior appendages tipped in black. When viewed from above, the superior anal appendages are sub-quadrate with gently rounded corners. The inferior anal appendages slope strongly upwards, are broad at the base, then taper rapidly to an acute point. Females of this species are more robust, and have duller coloration than males. The female thorax is more greenish overall, and the female abdomen ranges from golden yellow to brown. This damselfly breeds in weedy ponds, ditches, and rice fields.
