About Cerastium pumilum Curtis

Cerastium pumilum, commonly known as dwarf mouse-ear or European chickweed, is an annual or biennial herbaceous plant. It grows 2 to 20 centimeters tall and is native to central and western Europe. Its white flowers have petals that are either shorter than the sepals or equal in length to them; each petal is split at the middle, with the split extending up to one quarter of the petal's total length. Fruit petioles grow at a diagonal angle relative to the plant's stems, and their tips are often bent over. This species flowers between March and May, and it rarely grows on seacoasts.
