About Cerastium biebersteinii DC.

Cerastium biebersteinii DC. is a perennial herbaceous plant. Its stems grow 15 to 25 centimeters tall. The leaves are whitish, covered in dense matted hairs, and range from flat to linearly elongated; they are slightly acute with smooth edges, measuring 0.2 to 3 centimeters long and 1 to 9 millimeters wide. The white flowers are 1.5 to 2.2 centimeters in diameter, arranged in cymes at the top of the stem. This species blooms from the end of April through the end of May. The only unique natural habitat of this plant is Crimea, where it occurs in Crimean yayla grassland. It is grown for ornamental use.
