This species occurs in multiple European countries including Albania, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Romania, Spain, and Ukraine. It is also found on several European islands: the Balearic Islands, Sardinia, and Sicily. Beyond Europe, Cephalota circumdata can be found in the North African countries of Algeria and Tunisia, as well as in Turkey.
